School Bus Project
In order to continue to provide transportation for our students, we need to raise $50,000 to purchase and insure it.
Our students have so many obstacles standing in their way to success, but last year, our schoolwide academic growth was in the 99th percentile nationally. We were bless by Madam Jill who spearhead a fund raising for a mini van that was able to meet the transportation issue.
Unfortunately, the van that provides the means of bringing our students to school and also use for shuttle business after bringing them is not able to do so again due to the increase in fuel and also the rapid increase of our less privileged kids who are now accessing the school from other villages, who once was not getting the privilege. Due to these challenges, it’s has negatively affect teaching and learning because the van has to start conveying the kids from 5:00 a.m. till 10:00 a.m., which eats into the studying hours. And it’s also affect the time we convey these kids back home, school closes 3:00 pm yet we get all the kids conveyed to their various house at 6pm. This makes the kids very hungry and sometimes some got beaten by rain and due to the night hour some face challenges by beating bitten by snakes due to lack of light at their village because they will have to walk from where the van will alight them. This puts us in a really scary position.
We now need to raise enough money to purchase a school bus which is bigger than the van to help us meet our current need and to allow the mini van to be use for shuttle business which will earn us income to help meet (and fund the other expenses that come along with it) while still sustaining our day-to-day operations.
