Fill a Plate, Feed a Dream — Feed a DEGCA Child

The story

Every Child Deserves a Full Plate and a Chance to Dream I still remember where this journey began. In 2017, David E. Gregory Christian Academy (DEGCA) started under a simple pavilion in Agona Nsaba, Ghana. We did not have much, but we had faith, determination, and a deep conviction that a child’s circumstances should never determine their future. Today, we serve children who come from families facing difficult economic circumstances. We provide education, care, and support because we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream about a better tomorrow. But there is one challenge we cannot ignore: hunger. Imagine a child sitting in a classroom trying to concentrate while their stomach is empty. Imagine knowing that the child beside you has food while you are wondering when you will eat your next meal. For many children living in poverty, hunger is not an occasional problem—it is part of everyday life. At DEGCA, we want school to be a place where children can forget their worries for a moment, learn with confidence, laugh with their friends, and believe that their dreams are possible. That is why I am fundraising to help provide daily meals for the children of DEGCA. Every contribution, no matter the size, can make a real difference. Your gift can help provide a plate of nutritious food to a child who needs it. It can help a student remain focused in class. It can give a child the energy to participate, learn, play, and grow. And perhaps most importantly, your kindness tells that child: “You matter. Your future matters. Someone believes in you.” I cannot do this alone. The cost of feeding our children every day is a responsibility that continues to grow, but I refuse to believe that these children should have to face hunger while trying to build their future.
